Thanks for the response! I wanted to answer off of the discussion
group, so as not to sound too uneducated about my Guzzi....BUT
I did try the gas cap, to no avail. So, I checked the points and they
were pitted, but I have seen worse. I took the points out, took a file
to them, and re-installed them. Went to start the bike to check timing,
but now can't get it started. TOO HOT, to work in the garage right now,
so I am taking a break. Your opinion as to what I must have done? By
the way, I did set the point gap to .016. Could I have the distributer
cap on incorrectly? I don't think that is possible, but I am clueless
and trying to learn.
