I dropped the tank off at the chrome shop. They will:
Repair the dent in the left chrome panel.
Electrolys nickel plate the inside.
Chrome the exterior.
Getting the tank repaired and plated has been hanging over my head for a long time now. After my last failed experience trying to get a plater to do what he told me he would do, I'm more than a little aprehensive. The shop I found seems to know what they are doing and they were not at all concerned about the dent. In picking a shop, I went with trying to find the most reputable shop I could find, regardless of price. I thought I was doing that last time, though, as I had personal recommendation to use the previous shop. This time around, it is supposed to be completed in 30 days. We'll see...
