I concur with Patrick that adjusting with an accurate vacuum gage is the
only way to go. On my BMW R1100, the difference between "dead on" and slightly
off in vacuum is felt immediately in the seat of the pants and through the
handlebars. Much fun with my friends who balance carbs "by ear" when we put
the Twin Max on and readjust - always with an easily measured positive result.
One of my loops had no boss on the intake manifolds for the vacuum ports. I
simply drilled and tapped for a 1/8" NPT in the appropriate place . I got a
brass elbow fitting from NAPA with male NPT on one end and a barbed hose
connection on the other end which I Loctited into the manifold (with the hose
fitting pointing upward). I then took the Dremel and smoothed the protruding
fitting to match the inside of the manifold. When connecting the TwinMax, it
is dead easy and when through adjusting, I connect the two fittings together
with a length of rubber tube.
