I've already put some into the Virginia water supply, so don't worry about
your location Rob we already have you on satellite. :)

Hi Rob,
I'm glad you brought this up. In utmost secrecy, Paul and I are really
working toward embedding miniature microchips just under the scalp of all
loopers. These microchips will have an infinite battery supply and will
communicate with satellites to allow us to pinpoint your loop's whereabouts
at all times.
But how will you insert these devices?
Great question! We have two primary modes of infection: (1) We've been
working with Frank Wedge to add a teeny tiny microchip to each staple he
uses to secure the MGNOC newsletter. You open the newsletter and we've
gotcha! (2) I've been teaching the microchips to traveling along wires to
individual looper's computer mice. Each time you press a mouse button, the
microchip is one step closer until the final click and we've gotcha!
Once you are carrying the microchip, your loop will be automagically
infected with the tracking device the first time you think about it.
Now for the rest of the story...
The Google Maps API is very easy to use. I had a sample running in less than
5 minutes. The biggest share of the work was looking up Longitude and
Latitude values for the 300+ loops currently on the list (that part sucked).
Why was I doing this and not ridding? Angela works nights and I keep track
of baby Darby during the day. I suppose I could watch television instead,
but this seemed like a fun challenge. Now I can waste even more time
watching the markers appear on the map :>

something? ;) Thanks for putting it together Greg and Paul BTW, is there a realtime update feature? for instance, at night my bike is in Christiansburg VA (as noted on the map), but today I drove to school in Blacksburg VA. Sometimes in the evening I go ride around to other areas all together. If Paul is only going to update you once/week, how will anyone know where to go to see my bike?? Rob |
