I am hapy to hear that Neil is back and safe. I now that has been eating at you for a long time. BTW It was great connecting with you at the National. There were so many people there i wanted to meet. I was glad we finally met. The net gives us all this shroud of secrecy. Meeting face to face gives you the complete person.

Bank of the World (America) came into town buying up Fleet mega bank. Promising that the cities, towns and people that they would continue with the community banking effort put forth by Fleet Bank. This week they quietly began to dismantle the community banking division. Find the Human

If my local bank was on the same nationwide ATM network or didn't charge me for out of network transactions I would go with them.

Now Lannis, don't hold back. Tell us how you REALLY feel. :>

I'm right there with you, BTW!

How are your sons doing? Eldest one still in Iraq?

Greg -

I'm much better now that I've eased my mind on the subject. It's just a
pet peeve of mine when companies (and people) lose track of what they're
supposed to be doing and start serving someone besides their customers.
It's a recipe for failure. It's like they are playing tennis and staring
at the scoreboard instead of keeping their eye on the ball.

On the other hand, that attitude provides LOTS of opportunities for the
rest of us to jump in and take up the slack. For example, look at all
the little banks that are springing up in towns and cities to serve the
people that the huge, over-merged banks like Wachovia and SunTrust have
forgotten about and ignored in their quest for size and "market share"
at the expense of customer service and the personal touch.

I hope Guzzi's North American operation heeds the call. Sometimes I
want to grab one of them by the collar and say "Can't you see the
opportunities you are missing? Don't you understand that your customer
base is a small, eccentric, extremely loyal, close-knit, communicating
band of RIDERS?!?! DEAL with them on that basis and not like they are
Harley or Honda or WalMart customers....".

Oh well.

And thanks for asking about Neil. He got home from Iraq with his Marine
infantry unit this very week, with the dust and sweat from the desert
still on him, and we were very glad to see him for a few hours at Camp
Lejeune. He'll be coming to the house today for a proper celebration!
