The CHP saga continues. I'll keep you posted when the dust settles.
Meanwhile, I thought I'd share a lighter side of the Dutch Travels.
When he entered from Canada to Washington, the only forward contact Paul
had was Moto International. He was staying with Greg Field. I heard
through the grapevine he was there so I called immediately and spoke
directly with him to offer hospitality here in the SF Bay area. While
awaiting his arrival, I made a few more contacts. By the time he left
me, he was set with Todd Eagan in San Luis Obispo, then Greg Field's
sister in Venice Beach, then Ed Milich in Torrence, then Rob Thorsen in
San Diego. Essentially cost free until he leaves California.
In addition to these local ones, we made two additional long distance
hookups.
Patrick Sterling, a nice ex-Brit, ex-US Guzzi friend from Oakland
recently relocated just south of Guadalajara, Mexico. Within a few
e-mails, Paul was set there.
But wait, the web goes further. My brother-in-law in San Francisco is
from a Colombian family. His parents (who lived in LA for 30 years and
speak English fluently) happened to be up here for a visit. Paul and I
went over for some wine and cheese and within a few minutes he was
solidly hooked into hospitality in Medellin, Colombia.
Now, if I can just relocate that guy Jorge in Argentina with the Guzzi
SuperAlce!
