At one time they made a "mechanic in a can" product fo natural/organic material based seals. It may work
but doubtful. The stuff is usually less viscose than gear oil.

A friend suggested adding an ounce of something to the crankcase that swells the seals a bit to stop the leak. Anyone ever try this? Any downside? How much should I add if it's the right thing to do?
