The way it looks is if your brake stay is mounted at the 6 o'clock position
and the lever pivot is at 1 o'clock then the lever is mounted pointing down,
but if the pivot point is at 3 o'clock the lever is up. Must have been
different backing plates available.

Okay gang...start scratching you heads.
Pg 78/79 of the Premier Motor Corp manual show photo's of V700's with
the lever pointed down. The shaft is coming out of the hub, straight up
(vertical) from the axle vs straight back (horizontal) on Ambo/Eldos.
Ted is your bike a V700???
