Thanks Greg. I planned on taking it off eventually, but I've
spent so much time with this bike apart recently I keep putting
it off...

Make sure it is secured snugly to it's splines. In either case, I'd pull the rear wheel and have a quick look at the brake drum innards just to be sure everything is as it should be. I suppose one of the springs could be broken and causing havock, too. I really see this as being interal to the brake drum itself (and its associated parts) rather than in any linkage connected to it. |
