Hi Scott,
Yes, you can change out your gearing. I suggest that you play around
with the gearing spreadsheet available at www.guzzitech.com to see what
you can come up with. As for fitment, I *believe* that all of the
big-twin gear sets are functionally interchangeable except for the V11
sport gear set...although I'm not certain about some of the newest sport
bike stuff...or the upcoming 1100 breva. Be aware of a few things:
1. spline counts may differ on the pinion shaft...not insurmountable,
but something to keep in mind.
2. use gearsets only in matched sets...they were machined that way and
shouldn't be intermingled.
3. new gearsets will require a complete shimming of the rear drive...do
lot's of research before you tackle this (if you don't already know
how). It can be tricky to get right and expensive if you don't. It's not
magic, but requires skill and knowledge to do it right.
