Thanks Greg. I will try those suggestions.
I wouldn't say that I am afraid of the carbs as much as right now I have
so little time and capacity for frustration in my life right now that I
am not sure that it is something I want to get into. I might have to
break down and take it to a shop. I'll decide that in the next two
weeks.
I hadn't thought of the points though. I will check into that.
Thanks again,

Hi
AJ,
A couple of suggestions...
1. Don't leave the enrichener on if it doesn't start right away. I think

that is contributing to your "flooding" condition. If it does
start to
act flooded, close the enrichener and open the throttle wide open and

hold it there - don't pump it. That may help you.
2. You may need to clean/rebuild the carbs. You can get kits from MG

Cycle and it's not that difficult to do. Just do one carb at a time,

have a large, clean surface that you can lay everything out on, and pay

careful attention to where everything goes. Here is where you would use

compressed air to clear passage-ways, etc. Next time I clean mine, I'm

going to take some pictures and put a how to on the website. Until then,

just use the manuals and this group. Also, be sure NOT to use carb
cleaner on anything that isn't metal.
3. You may need to check your points and/or ignition timing to be sure

they are within spec.
