Robert,
The gen light shouldn't be on if your at 11-1200 rpm and it shouldn't
come back on at higher revs. Sounds like you might have a gen problem
here. Did you strip it and clean it?

Voltage meter shows battery voltage stays the same after starting or while revving. For instance if it 's got 12.6 volts at rest, it will drop a hair to 12.45 or so after starting and stays there. (I've been told it should jump to above 13) I opened up the regulator (Bosch) and it looks brand new. Contacts seem to move when they're supposed to, so I assume it's getting current. Ground for regulator checked, even ran a jumper from grounding terminal to battery neg., ran bike, no change in battery voltage. Connections are correct between generator (Bosch) and regulator. Generator warning light works - is illuminated at idle (about 11-1200 rpm), fades with revs, but then will come on again at higer revs. One thing that I have altered on the regulator is I disconnected the wire that goes from the second (lower) b+ tab on the regulator to the #30 tab on the relay. I replaced this with a #10 wire from the battery + directly to #30 on the relay for more amps when starting. I don't see why this would mess with the battery getting a charge, but I'm putting it out there anyway. I'll try switching it back for the hell of it and see what happens, but if anyone else has had this problem or has any ideas, I could use some suggestions.
