John's right, carbs are the same. The flip tops will only fit correctly in the later model 30 carbs. You could possibly get yours machined to fit or just add the later choke/enrichener assembly that mounts to the cylinder head. Might be cheaper to got the later style way than do the machining. I would trust using a drill at home on the soft/brittle carb bodies.

I sent you a reply, but think it may have dissapeared since it's not in my sent box.
As far as I know the Eldo and Ambo carbs are the same. I was always under the impression that the flip lever assembly simply took the place of the cable operated system.
