Subject: 4 speed trans shift shaft o-ring

I'm planning to have the small triangle shaped cover for my 4 speed
transmission machined to accept an o-ring (like the grown-up 5 speeds
have). I think some of you have gone before me with this modification.
Any advice or words of wisdom?
