I picked up a pair of very inexpensive universal AC Adapters the last
time as was at Harbor Freight ($2.99 each). Compared to the Radio Shack
version that cost much more, I figured I could at least try them out.
The plan was to use them to replace the dozens of batteries required to
operate some of Darby's baby stuff. I'm glad I checked the output
voltage with my multimeter before using them, as they were way off. In
comparison, the universal adapater I purchased from Radio Shack was
right on. I was able to dial the Harbor Freight adapters in with the
built in voltage selector, though. So, with a dab of solder here and an
adjustment there, I'm running many fewer batteries.
