Mike,
Yes, they do mar the finish a bit, but only under the clamps, so it's not visible. As for being a dirt trap, I guess so, but it hoses out easy enough. I did have to buy the spacers they sell that go between the head pipes and the I.D. of the mufflers, but I plan on taking it apart this weekend while doing a few other things to the bike and getting the last inch of the head pipes stretched out a wee bit so the spacers are no longer necessary and for a better fit.
