Hey Bob- thanks for the reply- I did check the spark with a little spark
plug checker gizmo- and it is getting fat blue spark on both sides- I
had put in new points and set the gap before doing the timing, but I
will do some switching around tonight to double check.

Check the spark on both cylinders. Pull the wire off the cylinder giving problems. If not much happens try the other side, engine will probably die. Could be bad wire, resistor, plug, cap, etc. Just something else to look at. Does the points open evenly on both lobes? May be more electrical than mechanical. Bob brian c wrote:
