Just a quick report......
Nine cold-immune Guzzi-eers gathered for lunch in Buchanan, Virginia
today. Temperature in Buchanan had bottomed out at about 15 degrees in
early morning but was 40 or so by the time we all got there.
A couple of us who had dropped our bikes on ice coming home from the
December lunch were tippie-toeing our Guzzis down off the Blue Ridge
Parkway around the shaded hairpins, noticing great frozen ice-sculptures
on the rock faces bordering the road, but luckily none of it was
actually on the road surface so all was well.
Saw one Rolls-Royce Phantom V on the Parkway (not a usual thing) and one
H-D dresser, only other bike on the road this cool day.
Ron K. had scoped out a little Italian place which, the owner had
assured us, was empty after noon on Saturdays. Today, however, several
groups showed up at once and filled the place up just as we got there.
It worked out great, though, since it gave us more time to sit around
and drink coffee and talk Guzzis before being served.
My lasagne was excellent, and everyone else's food looked good.
Greg and Annie King were there on their Centauro, Ron Komoroski on his
Eldo, Kevin DeShazar on his Bassa, and I on my Eldo; the bikes looked
good lined up on Main Street. Rob and Sam Prins were there, and Joe
Kenny and Pat Galbraith too.
Headed home over the Parkway again; the Eldo clutch is acting up
something fierce but the Centauro is still apart for service so I keep
riding the Eldo tho' I shouldn't, it's getting dangerous. But it was a
nice ride and good company!
I'll review Guzziology and the past clutch-changing threads on this
board and if I have questions, I'll check back....
