Brian,
For a bike that has been sitting as long as yours, you really ought to take
a close look at the chrome cylinder liners. They sometimes starts to fail
(especially at the top of the bore)& come off in micro-flakes. The flakes
get carried by the oil, lodge in the bearings, & proceed to carve the crank
journals like a Christmas turkey. Don't ask how I know this...
