Hi Keith,
I tried "Flitz" liguid polish and a terrycloth rag to clean up some
lightly oxidized parts and it works very well. But to polish more
oxidized parts I normally clean the part with Eagle 1 wheel cleaner and
while I'm rinsing it (thoroughly!!) scrub it with a green Scotchbrite
pad. Currently I'm using a Northern Tools bench grinder with the
grinding wheels and guards removed and spiral buffs put on. I use emery
compound on one and tripoli on the other. Then I have a small electric
motor with an adapter on the shaft with a loose section buff and white
rouge as a final step. Works pretty well, but I'm trying some different
combinations to see what might work better. Cheers,

All, What is the best way to polish the valve covers/gen belt cover? I have been using some expensive "Mothers" cream stuff with a buffing wheel that attaches to my drill - works ok but doen't get the aluminum shining like "chrome". |
