Hi Chuck,

Congrats on your purchase and I hope you have lots of fun with it. You
will find that many owners do many different things to their loops -
which is generally true of all Guzzis. You'll find that the supply of
parts for loop frames is pretty good, but there are certain things that
are very difficult to find (or end up being very expensive). So, if
you're wondering about whether or not to drill a hole in your police
style dash/nacelle, the advice you'll get from most loopers is to avoid
such permantent modifications to a part that is becoming increasing
difficult to find. If you have questions about where to find parts or
the cost of replacements, be sure to ask this group (tons of knowledge
and experience just given away!).

Now, to address the valve polishing question...

I believe that all but the early Ambassador and all the Eldorado models
came with polished valve covers, but that the V700, early Ambassador,
and 850 California models came with unpolished covers.

Can someone else verify this???
