Also I have found that I have to have the enrichener (thanks for the correct term) set halfway to get it to start. Does that make sense? |
The enrichener is really a binary ON/OFF function. The carb has a
small, spring-loaded plunger with a rubber disk base. AT the bottom of
the bore is a fuel port with a raised lip. When the plunger rests on
this port, no extra fuel flows. When you lift it off, fuel does. This
is the enrichening circuit for cold starting. So, I wouldn't worry
about the exact position of your enrichener handle. Just whack it open.
The bike is NOT likely to idle well or at all without some manual
throttle up help. You can drive right off if you wish and then just
turn the enrichener circuit back off. Don't bother with any kind of
partial or feathering adjustment. Its just on/off.
