Guzziesti,
Been following the "LAPD on Ebay thread". Were the chrome fender models
REALLY never used by a police department? My Eldo #61902, is titled as a
'74, chrome fenders, single disc, floorboards, long sidestand, proper
coil-kill switch, 120 mph speedo in 1 mph increments (w/resetable odometer),
aluminum casting "Kirby vacuum" dash w/ all the idiot lights (one of the red
dash lights had wires clipped off). What does the siren bracket look like? I
don't think the bike has one. It was "civlianized" w/ a custom long seat,
Wixom bags & a strange fairing when I bought it in 1990. The seller said it
had been in police service in Texas. Normally I'd take such a claim w/a
grain of salt, but the bike had the frame number hand-stamped into the wheel
rims & valve covers. To my way of thinking, only a cop mechanic who had a
bunch of 'em to maintain would do such a thing. What's the opinion of the
list? Should I stop repeating the Texas story when asked about the bike?
