I concur with Ian...lack of lubrication where the cable fits into the
lever is usually the culprit. If you get a 'notchy' feeling when you
pull in the clutch you know it't time to lube, the cable will eventually
work harden and break.

Hey All, Would be interesting to note where the majority of failures occur. Most, from my observations, occur at the lever end. The cable end cannot move in its recess as the lever rotates and eventually strains the cable to failure (sort of like bending a paper clip back and forth until it breaks). With the exception of the thin cables that were found on early Loops most cables will last forever if properly taken care of. Regards...Ian |
