Hi Ron,

Thanks for the link. I've seen some other sites like this, but this
seems the most comprehensive. I've steered clear of Fram for years and
it's nice to see the my propensity toward AC Delco and Wix filters has
some grounding in quality.

All oil filters have a bypass valve built in to allow oil to bypass the
filtering element if;
1. the element is too dirty to allow adequate flow, or
2. the oil is cold & thick & won't pass through the element fast enough.
The theory is better unfiltered oil than not enough oil.
