They complicate maintenance but really quiet down that sucking sound.
You have to glue the boot to the front plate with strong RTV-type
sealant and let it dry before assembly. The filter's as big as the one
on my Nissan truck, so I doubt it costs you much horsepower.
With all of the mods Greg Field has done to his Eldo, I was surprised to see that he was using the stock airbox. When I asked him about it, he explained that he really liked the reduced intake noise. To get it to seal properly, he uses silicon sealant around the lip of the rubber boot. |
