Hi Mike,
I was watching the Speed chanel a few weeks ago and they mentioned the
Osaka motorcycle company...even had a couple of models that they showed.
Essentially, their bikes look just like the 70's Hondas. They have
street and trail models (CB200 and XR200 models, I think). I think the
prices are supposed to be less than $1500. You can see pics below, but I
don't know where to pick one up yet here in the states. I was thinking
that they would be perfect starter bikes and not something I'd shed a
tear over WHEN the wife falls over. Plus, I personally don't want to put
a lot of fix-up effort into something the wife may or may not ever
enjoy.

but it is hard to find info on this company or availability of their
products)

OK, now that we got to mentioning our wish lists, I've got the Ambo for riding solo and the Vert for two-up, and am very happy with them, but I would also kinda like...(sounds dangerous)... a Nouvo Falcon for my wife and son to learn to ride on. I'd look for one for sure if they were shaft drive, but I hate giving in and buying another chain-drive bike. I always boast about the shaftiness of my guzzis. I could get a V50, but that is not as light as the Falcon, and I've heard plenty of reservations expressed about the durability of the early small-blocks. we'll probably end up with a 25o Virago or something, eventually (sad to say). -Mike (69 ambo, 77 vert) ===== M.Jones, associate editor, Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies (http://hiphi.ubbcluj.ro/JSRI/) "The heart has its reasons which reason does not know." -Blaise Pascal "With man, instinct and reason avoid each other with adversity, yet, by repudiating each other they lure each other to reach mutual correction." -Lucian Blaga __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
