Hi Joe,
Good to know. This is the first Bosch equipped Loop I've had, heard
they're a bit better than Marelli equipped ones. I took Dave W's advice
and bought one of the new solid-state Bosch regulators (from Wolfsburg
West - $26.70) to hopefully maximize output. Still would like to do the
ND alternator conversion eventually. Cheers,

Charlie, I think the Bosch generator systems are pretty capable. On Junkyard with headlight (sealed beam) on high, tail light (sae 1157, 4 running lights (1157 low side), 4-way flashers (the other 1157 filaments), 2 saddlebag running lights, and a pair of 35 watt spots on, plus the ignition, it will show 14 volts at the battery terminals at around 3000 rpm. No problems charging here! |
