Hi Bob,
Haven't tried the edging myself, so can't comment on that. I do have the
same fairing though and two things worked for me. As Andy suggests
adjust the angle - I made two spacers approx. 3/4" long that fit on the
bolt where the brackets attach to the handlebar clamps. This will tilt
the screen more vertical and may lessen the buffeting. The other thing
was handlebars - when I got the bike it had Suzuki GS1000 bars which
were wider and taller. I changed to the Ambo civilian bars and my sore
tailbone and shaken noggin were both helped. The more forward lean from
the stock bars gets me down behind the screen a bit more and off my
tailbone too. Still not perfect, but much better. You could probably
make a slightly taller screen out of Lexan, which may help. Cheers,

List, Does anyone have an opinion (like I need to ask!) on wind management techniques? I have an original Ambassador fairing on my Ambo, a nice look, but I am disappointed with the wind management results. I still get buffeting and wind noise ( I wear a full face helmet). I just found a website on a product called Microswirlhttp://www.saeng.com/products.htm and wonder if anyone out there has any knowledge about this product, which slips onto the edge of your windscreen and breaks up wind by introducing eddies. Thanks, Bob |
