If you get one for a '70 VW Beetle it should have the correct 3 ohms w/
internal resistor as Ian stated. I would caution against buying the
cheapy coils - one I purchased from Auto Advantage for the Ambo a few
years back lasted a mere three months before it failed. An Echlin (from
NAPA) lasted only a while longer on a friend's Eldo. Most (all?) of
these are oil filled and don't seem to be as durable as the Bosch Blue
Coil (which if I remember correctly is epoxy encased).
Spend the $30 for the Bosch and never have to worry! There are some
Bosch coils which are blue, but are not Blue Coils (if that makes any
sense). These usually slosh when shaken, and are a bit lighter in weight
(as well as shade of blue). Cheers,

ok, so I've been lookin for one, too. the guys at napa, schucks, etc. only have stuff that is rated for 12-15 ohms. Any idea where to find such a beast? thx, jeff On Fri, 10 Sep 2004 21:33:40 -0400, andy hill <alh-@adelphia.net> wrote: |
