How comfortable would you rate the reproduction seats that MG Classics offer? |
I've got the MG Classics Solo with the custom passenger seat cut from
the stock pan.
All the ones I see have a big slope rising to the rear of the seat. If
you are short and sit on the front edge, this is fine. If you are taller
and sit more to the rear you will need to raise the front and middle,
level with the back or you will forever be sliding forward.
I raised the front of the seat pan with a piece of thick rubber on the
top of the frame and pulled the seat material loose on the bottom and
built the foam higher by inserting stiff foam between the seat pan and
existing foam. (maybe 3 inches, it compresses trust me) 3M adhesive
will reattach the seat material.
The result is a very comfortable seat that supports the taller/wider
rider very well. The stock 2/up seat lets your "cheeks" hang over the
edges of the seat.
I spent two hours on it today and was very comfortable.
