I agree with you Pat.
I would of thought that the national would have an award for the oldest bike
that was ridden there.
Do you have any thoughts on this JU?
A good time was had by everyone that didn't break down, even though the
temps could have been about 20 degrees warmer.

http://click.topica.com/caacneLb1dfltb6364ma/411Web ------------------------------------------------------------------ I am reluctant to criticize anyone who volunteers to put on a rally for me. Without them, I'd be riding for months without ever hearing the sound of another Guzzi or meeting the wonderful people who ride them. Travelling by van, I was able to carry a bunch of odd extra tools and those were used on at least six other bikes during the weekend. My only gripe with the rally was the lack of vintage display. The ONLY single cylinder Guzzi on display was a 50cc Robin moped. Yikes! I towed my two EV's to the rally to loan them away to British guests. They are due back here by the middle of next week in time for Laguna Seca. We left the rally on Sunday morning for a bullet run back home. About halfway across Wyoming, we hit a horrific thunderstorm. We came upon Dennis Venema and his 74 Eldorado at a gas stop with a totally soaked ignition (and body). He was more worried about his near balding rear tire than about the ignition or his own condition. We tossed his bike onto our now empty trailer and gave him coffee, food, and free mileage all the way to our night stop in Wendover at the Nevada border. Glad to help him out. He is sure a unique character. Monday morning we rolled through Elko so we stopped in to see Bert Fox (Nevada MGNOC rep) at his Brews Brothers Cafe. Nice chat and really good coffee. He advised us of a Nevada Guzzi Rally on the weekend of October 9/10 near Carson City. Isn't that the same date as the San Diego Rally and the Italy, Texas parade? Suddenly there are too many Guzzi events. Home by Sunday night and busy with some house prep before the guests all arrive next week. Patrick Hayes Fremont CA |
