Hey All, Another great rally put on by Ron and Alice....thanks! |
It's a ton of work and I'm thankful that they do it.
Did the run up to Virginia on Friday....430 miles to my cousins on the south end of Lynchburg. No rain...thankfully and most of the ride was on the interstate....mostly. |
Glad to hear that the Ambo can thunder along at Interstate speeds. The
trucks on I-85 are no joke.
Since this was a combined family/MG weekend didn't get over to the rally site till Sat afternoon. Nice to see new faces as well as old ones. Not as many Loops as I had hoped...only about 4 this year. Nice to see you Charlie...as always and nice to put a face to Lannis' name. |
Same here. But "old faces"? Just because there's a few wrinkles...

Ride back was an experience on Sunday....I decided to run back home through Tennessee. Averaged about 70 mph on I81. Had to endure horrible rubber necker traffic through Sieverville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinsburg. |
Been there once....I hate those tourist-trap places.
Also had
to deal with rain and 35mph traffic through the Smokies....sucked! The last 3 miles to the house was torrential downpour. Even the old 69 had had about enough after that...she was not idling all that well as I pulled into the garage. Still...she made the 1040 mile run without a hiccup. Something to be said about these old beasts and something cool about riding all that way on a 35 year old motorcycle. Looking forward to the Blue Ridge Rally in Aug! Ciao...Ian |
Sounds like fun. The Blue Ridge rally next year for sure....
