Manfred Hecht built my stock 1000 cc SP motor and I asked him about
balancing. He said that the post-'75 motors were balanced at 51% at the
factory and that if you sued stock parts there was no reason to
rebalance.
Lighter pistons and rods means all bets are off and a rebalance to 51%
was his recommendation.
My recollection of Guzziology is similar but my wife won't let me read
it in bed since I got oil on the cover.

Anybody know the balance factors to use for a Guzzi engine? It is a 1000cc that will be used for road riding. The machinist has been told a couple of different set of factors which correspond with Chev V8. One puts vibration at the mid range and eliminates it at the 7K area. Any help would be appreciated.
