Gary Cheek sent me a small one-wire alternator that he always meant to graft on to his before he sold it. I took it down with me last week when I visited Bob Nolan, local Guzzi guru, to get his idea on building the mounting bracket. He then showed me a similar small alternator, and the bracket he had built to mount it, meaning someday to use it on his guzzi-powered three-wheel car. It was a slick bracket, so I asked him how much to build a similar bracket for my alternator. He said, "I'm never going to get around to using this one, so I'll just sell it to you." I bought it and mounted it up, and now my Eldo really has juice (40 amps). I ran it last night with my headlight on high, two front running lights, two 55-watt piaa spotlights, four rear running lights, taillight, grip heaters on high, and electric vest on high, and the voltmeter still read 14 volts. Can't imagine what else I'd need to plug in, but I've still got reserve power. Saved 10 lbs in weight, too. So, I've still got the alternator Gary gave me, and I'm offering it to all you loopers for the same price he offered me: pay the shipping. Anyone want it?
