Hi All,
Last week I received my "late engine into a Loop" crank adapter from
Moto International. Upon inspection it was found to have a small but
critically placed nick/dent on the seal surface - right where the seal
will run. Apparently, all of this batch from Teo Lammers has the nick
and is also missing the hardened washer for the attachment bolt. They
knocked off $10 for the missing washer when I placed the order, but
refused to adjust the price further for the nick. For $110 I expect it
to be bloody perfect. There's enough material that machining or
polishing away the nick on the lathe won't compromise the sealing, so
that's no problem - for me. But if anyone is thinking of using the
MI/Teo Lammers adapter that doesn't have access to a lathe, you want
want to reconsider. The cost to have the nick removed on top of the
adapter cost would be insult added to injury. Maybe buy one from Mark @
Moto Guzzi Classics instead - I sure should have!
