Kind of goes with the marvel mystery oil - rislone - motor flush, I have
never herd of running antifreeze though. I have used motor flush before but
not while the engine was running. I have brought some old brit bikes back
to life after setting for years. I drain the oil tank and fill it with 3
qts of motor flush, I then take out the plugs, pull the primary cover and
with a large hilt drill and socket I spin the motor over and watch the oil
tank to make sure the oil pump is running it through. I usually do this a
few times a day for about a week and then drain the tank and engine sump.
Then I fill with oil and with the hilt drill run the engine to get the oil
back up to the oil tank. So far so good and quite allot of cramp comes out
when I drain the sump. Like a Guzzi the only way to clean the crank sludge
trap is to tear the motor down. I which guzzi would have located the sludge
trap on the cranks, so you could get to them by just pulling off the oil
pan.

I probably should keep my mouth shut. |
But what the hell. I heard by several people than running anti-freeze in an engine, or clutch will clean out the system. anti-freeze, I was told acts like a detergent. I don't have any specifics, I'm just relaying what I heard. i would be wary about trying it. Has anybody else heard of such a thing? |
out? One issue in oil is particulates, which should get flushed out
with an oil change or caught in a filter. If you ran anti freeze in an
engine for any length of time I'm sure its lack of lubricating abilities
in a hot engine would seize it up in no time.
Not to start an oil thread or anything, but the best oil that you
can use is one that is economical to change often.
