Last night at 11, I heard the nieghbor kids riding thier gopeds around
the block. I heard them coming around again, then quite, then shouting.
I knew that they had crashed. I got up out of bed and grabbed a
flashlight.
As I jogged across the front yard, I could see a group of kids and a
pile of gopeds. One young lad was crying loudly and clutching his arm.
Another boy just lay quietly on the curb, wincing in pain. Both boys,
age 12, had a broken arm.
They were riding two up on two gopeds and 'bumped' into each other,
dumping one of the gopeds and its riders.
I called 911 and got the fire dept rolling, they arrived in about 5 min.
I told the oldest boy to go home and get his parents, and he said that
they were not home, but at work! The FD took the boys to a local
hospital for casts, and prolly a good chewing out by thier folks
whenever they arrived!
