Hi Randy,
I'd remove the snap ring (as Guzziology recommends) and install them to
the same depth as the originals. Cheers,
Charlie

Hi guys Doing some head work on my 700 to make it rideable to the rally, and have a question about the guides. I'm putting new guides in and was noticing that the exposed top of the old guides, is only about a third of what the new guides are to the snap ring groove. Should I go to the original depth or use the snap ring groove as a guideline. The original guides do not have a snap ring. I think this may be the case on the 700s. The overall length and width is the same. Any one have any comments as to the depth to sink the guides, and should I use the snap ring or not??? Any tips are helpful. Just inherited about 50 more maps of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Anybody that wants one, leave your address. Thanks Randy SE SoDak |
