I just installed bar end signals on my ratty driver Ambo and I'm very happy
with them. I was lucky and had an old single signal switch from the days
back when turn signals were not standard and trimmed down the hand grip
slightly to accommodate the switch. I bought the lights themselves from
Nor-Vil in England as the original Hella type were quite expensive. These
are chrome and not aluminum like the Hellas but work fine. I had to grind
down the adjuster slightly to fit into the ends of my bars. I also had to
drill a hole in the center bottom of the bars to let the wires out of the
bars. The worst part of the installation for me was fishing the wires
through the bars. I didn't even take the bars off the bike, I just loosened
the mounts and rotated the bars far enough around towards the tank so I
could drill the hole in the bars and fish wire through.
The bar end lights also work well even when the stock Ambo
fairing/windshield is on the bike.
Hope this helps,

They're located at the most outboard part of the bike, no confusion over which way you're turning. They're much simpler to hook up, only 2 lights instead of four, not a lot of wires running all over the bike. Aesthetically I think they're much cleaner, you don't have these lights on stalks sticking out all over the place. The best reason is that a good friend gave them to me for free, after I found out how much they cost I was really appreciative.
