I was informed today that my two weeks of vacation have to used separately and can't be used consecutively. So, no trip to SD for me this year! Charlie |

Sorry to hear that; not that I was going to be able to go, but I hate to
hear about looked-forward-to plans not going right.
It's always like that; if you want to take several shorter breaks, the
"rule" is that you have to take your vacation all at once. If you want
to take a long trip, THEN the rule is that you have to split it up.
I hate those rules, especially when they seem arbitrary. About the only
ones that make sense are the annual plant-maintenance-shutdown deal - or
if you're a banker or finance guy and you need to be gone so they can
check behind you and make sure you're not running some scam that falls
apart if you aren't there every day.....
Come to think of it, anything that gets in the way of rallying is a
pain.
I'm trying to plan a year ahead; a Britbike correspondent has offered me
a BSA A50 loaner if I'll fly over to London and then ride with them to
the Denmark BSA International rally. That'll take two weeks for sure.
We'll probably end up with some emergency at our plant or something and
it'll screw it up at the last minute. All we can do is try....!
