From what I have read the later ambo's (late 70-71) share the same heads as
the eldo's. The early ambo's had the heads similar to the V700 with smaller
valves.

Subject: Ambo/Eldo head compatibility
Hey All,while
Was wondering if I could bolt on my Eldo heads from my Police project
I repair the head from the Ambo?looks
Intake valve was indeed bent. Needed to hammer the thing out. From the
of it the valve could have fused to the guide (since there was some brassbit
tightly fixed to the valve stem) and that is what kept it open...allowing
the piston to hit the valve and bend it. Not sure if this is the case
because the valve was closed when I pulled the head.
I'm still not sure which was first to go. The push rod bending causing the
valve to bend (see previous email explaining my theory) or vice versa. A
of a mystery. Possible there was a lack of flow of oil to the top end toocovers.
but there was lots of oil up top when I initially pulled the rocker
some
Not sure whether to look for something else. At any rate I am happy in
ways because I think the damage could have been considerably worse.
Ciao...Ian
