Subject: 100,000+ fans..... 2 Loops!

Hey All,
Was invited to experience a NASCAR race with Ed on Sunday. After spending
Sat morning working on the bikes (another email coming after this one) we
tooted down to his place from Dahlonega (60 miles). Spent the night and left
for Hampton at 7am. The 60 mile ride down was routine and the bikes handled
well....even crawling along (9 miles in about 40 minutes) ....brutal!
Parked and I must say I was pretty impressed. Cars flying past at 180mph
only feet apart was pretty cool.
Left early to beat out the rush and rode the 120 miles back home.
I was impressed with the organization at the place, how the 100,000+ fans
behaved, and seeing the cars and race up close. What most impressed me
though....is how a couple of 30 year old Loops behaved. Not a hiccup. The
ol'69 tooted along like a new machine.....even going 70mph up the expressway
to Dahlonega.
Of course we were the only two Loops at the race....kind of cool to think
about that....
