Hello Paul, Greg and Charlie-
Here's the follow up:
Thanks Charlie for the "loosen plug and bang" technique, and thanks Greg
for the "slot flaring" note. I ended up using a flat crow bar. After a
little bit of work on both ends the tubes came out.
I was hoping I could blame the poor forks to an un-progressively wound
spring, and I got what I wanted there. Tomorrow I'll play with the fork
collar tool; see what it does. I've also got the fork puller tool, so
I'll play with that too, maybe.
