Hi All,
A buddy and I went to the Cycle World Int'l M/C Show in DC on Sunday and
had a good time. Would have liked to have seen something new from Guzzi
there (MGS 01, 1100 Breva, Griso), but the new Triumph Thruxton and
2300cc cruiser were cool. Also never noticed before how compact the new
Buell XB9/XB12 are. Amazing considering how big the engine is! Honda'a
Rune was there as was the new Kawasaki 2000cc V-twin cruiser and both
left me unimpressed. After looking at all of the new offerings, I was
glad to have my Loops and V7 Sport waiting at home. One accessory vendor
had a table type lift for $499 delivered, but it looked a little cheap
and was obviously made in China. From the same vicinity of the world
were the Kymko scooters, atvs and a 250cc v-twin cruiser from Taiwan
all seeming to be of high quality. Guess the mainland has a lot of
catching up to do!

While there I met Christian Neuhauser, Editor-in-Chief of Road Runner
magazine at their stand. After taking a look through the mag, I decided
it was definitely worth a try. Beautiful photos and good writing all on
high quality glossy paper. Reminds me of a National Geographic Traveler
magazine for motorcyclists. Lots of European content too. The May/June
issue will have an article about the Mid-Atlantic Italian Moto-Fest in
it (maybe the Falcone and me).

Weather permitting, the MD/DC Breakfast this Sunday will be held as a
road trip to the Will Stoner Swapmeet in York, PA. Contact Rep. Bill
Sharp for more details on where they're meeting for breakfast
(410)551-6939. I plan on going, but will meet the rest of the gang up
there. Cheers,

Charlie
