Would you like to help me? I have developed many Guzzi friends around the world and have been most fortunate to be able to travel and meet them. I have repeatedly been humbled by the outpouring of hospitality shown to me when I visit other Guzzi riders. Many of them have returned to visit me and stay in my home.

In 2004, I have invited two special Guzzi riding couples from England to be my guests at the Guzzi National Rally in South Dakota. Thereafter they will spend two leisurely weeks riding my motorbikes across the west. I will drive with my small motorhome and my trailer from near San Francisco to deliver two EV's for their use. We'll be meeting at my brother's home in Denver a few days before the rally and they'll take the EV's from there. I know it is generally a sin to trailer a Guzzi to a rally, but I think you will all forgive my transgression in consideration for this adventure. If you'd like to meet us at the rally, just look for the small camper with the Union Jack flag hanging in the breeze. Beer will be properly warm.

We need a little help in designing a travel route and lodging on the way back home. I'll just zip directly home in my camper on the major freeway and I think I already have a commitment to haul another bike back. My guests will take a more circuitous vacation route and eventually show up at my home near San Francisco. We're still in the early planning stages, so all suggestions are welcome. Will they go the north route toward Seattle and then down the coast? Will they go south through the desert National Parks and Las Vegas? Part of the design of their route will be based on lodging availability. Where possible, I would like to find some Guzzi homes for them to lodge in along the way. High season airfare from England is expensive enough. I'd like to minimize their personal expenses and maximize their interaction with American Guzzi riders along the way. These are two adult couples. Between them back in England they own modern EV cruisers, Sport 1100, small block V-50's and a whole garage full of vintage singles. Do you have space to host them in your home? Would you like a visit? If they stay at a nearby motel would you like to provide them a dinner? Can you meet them along the way and provide some guide or leadership through particularly scenic terrain or out-of-the-way historical venue?

Any and all recommendations, suggestions, and offers will be happily considered. I'll spend the next several months relaying your input and suggestions as they plan out their adventure. No promises though. The route and timing will be highly flexible and will depend on weather and visiting opportunities along the way. Please join me to host these guests if you can.
