Thanks folks, I got it. There was a hole in the side which I used to put a
small punch through to push the ring out and then I pried it with a small screw
driver. Worked great. Plus, as usual, I posted this question before I read
Guzziology which describes the procedure. Scheesch! When will I ever learn to
read directions first...
