Such as what would you not do again.
*** Do it right the first time and be done with it!

Color schemes - Original or custom?
*** That's your call! If you ever have to sell, a $2000 original
styled paint job will market to a wider audience than a $2000 custom.

Paint stripping - Has anyone tried dipping the fenders, tool
boxes, side covers?
*** I touched up the fenders and tank as needed and clearcoated them
for gloss and to preserve the factory pinstripes. Tool boxes, side
covers, fork shouds and headlight, I had powdercoated and then applied
the appropriate decals.

Re-chroming - What are the pros and cons?
*** I had to rechrome some NOS factory stuff that was pretty poor even
when new. IMHO much better quality when the aftermarket does it(show
chrome) vs a production chromed part. A chrome shop is expected to turn
out perfection or it is returned for another try.

What is the most effective way of cleaning the cases?
*** Some have them blasted with some sort of media. I used Eagle One
liquid mag wheel cleaner for cast wheels (B). It will remove (eat) the
shine off any polished aluminum parts....BEWARE!

Post pictures!
