Ian,
Usually I take my tanks and other parts to be striped to a lady near me has
a sign business. I have her hand paint the pin strips and anything else on
over top of the base coat( i do base coat/clear coat 2 part poly paint
systems). Decals can go on just before clearcoat gets shot. u got to be real
carefull with the decals as the clear coat can and will wrinkle them, so
shoot a couple thin, light clears before laying it on heavy.
