The Audi is an '88 which I bought with 110,000 on it in '94 (two weeks
before my marriage - sad when your car lasts longer and is more faithful
than your wife). Majority of the mileage was piled on the first two
years. Absolutely stone reliable other than a ignition rotor at 290,000,
an alternator at 292,000 and the a/c which turned itself on last winter
and won't shut off. Nothing else other than "consumables" - tires,
belts, etc. Still very strong running, but some bits showing signs of
age and will need attention soon. Nice to have the Mercedes as a backup
just in case of something major.
225,000 in three years! You really travel! Cheers,
Charlie.
